North Williams Avenue will be seeing new safety changes to make it more bike and pedestrian friendly. Four-thousand bicyclists use it everyday along with 8,000 cars, trucks and buses.
New changes include a much wider lane for just bikes on the left and one motor vehicle traffic lane on the right.
Bicyclists agree it will help make them more visible during rush hour. The New Seasons at North Williams and Fremont is especially busy for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Crosswalk improvements will be made to five intersections along North Williams. A new signal light will be added to the busy intersection at North Cook near Dawson Park.
The new safety project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. For more information visit the original article here.
