Real Client: Car Speeding Away From Police Crashes into Tree and River
This is a real story about one of our real speeding accident clients. All names of individuals have been changed to protect the innocent and the guilty alike. But names of insurance companies are real, and the details of what happened have not been changed.
“Margaret” was riding in her boyfriend’s car when he started speeding. He kept speeding even after seeing a police patrol vehicle that started following them, leading the cop to begin chasing the car. Going around a curve, the car lost control and the spun into a tree and then landed in a river.
Sadly, Margaret’s boyfriend drowned. She was taken to the hospital and treated for multiple pelvic fractures, a leg injury, and a concussion. Her condition was listed as serious for several days as she struggled to recover, and she was unable to walk. She also suffered from hearing loss.
About three months after this horrific accident, Margaret decided that she needed help. Even after several months, she had reduced movement in her left leg, and headaches at least 3 times a week. Previously an avid snowboarder and yogi, Margaret was concerned that she would not be able to participate in these activities any longer – it was time to hire a Portland accident lawyer for help.
Margaret called DuBois Law Group for a free consultation, and after meeting with Sean, she felt comfortable about hiring the firm to represent her interests for the injury claim.
Although Progressive, her insurance company, had already offered her a settlement, Margaret hired DuBois Law Group to help reduce her medical liens – so that she would get some money in her pocket rather than have to give it all up to medical providers. We are happy to be helping Margaret with her case.
