According to KVAL.com, two fully loaded log trucks crashed<\/a> on December 2, 2009, around 11:35 AM, on Highway 226 between Lyons and Scio, Oregon. The crash sent one driver to the hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Dennis D. Kloehn, 67, of Veneta, was seriously injured after his truck tipped over on its side and crashed into another log truck driven by Oscar Vasfaret, 62, of Sweet Home. Vasfaret received non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

\nKloehn, a driver for Weyerhaeuser, was eastbound on Highway 226 when his truck tipped over on a right-hand curve in the road and hit the truck driven by Vasfaret.<\/p>\n

Kloehn was pulled from the wreckage and taken to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland. As of December 3, his condition had been upgraded from critical to serious but stable.<\/p>\n

Vasfaret, who was driving for Brian Miller Logging, was transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

The crash shut down Highway 226 for most of the day, as Oregon State Police conducted an investigation and the highway department arranged removal of the trucks and logs.<\/p>\n

We hope Kloehn and Vasfaret recover quickly, and we send our best wishes their way.<\/p>\n
