OregonLive.com<\/em> reports that the investigation into a pedestrian accident on Monday afternoon on Oregon 211 close to Sandy that left a woman in critical condition is ongoing.<\/p>\n

According to the article, the 19-year-old Stevie Rae Urwin was walking a leashed dog on the northbound shoulder of Oregon 211, close to Southwest Bornstedt Road at about 4:30 p.m. A 1976 Chevrolet truck, driven by 15-year-old Neal A. Bieri, an unlicensed driver, was traveling through a left curve of the road when the woman crossed the highway from the east side into the northbound lane. In a statement given to police, the boy attempted to brake to avoid hitting the woman and swerved to the left, but the right side of the truck struck the woman.<\/p>\n

Urwin was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center via ambulance and is reported to be in critical condition. After some time, her dog was located and taken to a veterinarian for treatment. Neal, the young driver, was uninjured in the collision and remained at the scene of the Oregon pedestrian accident.
