{"id":2414,"date":"2011-04-20T13:16:12","date_gmt":"2011-04-20T20:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdxinjurylaw.com\/blog\/?p=2414"},"modified":"2011-04-20T13:16:12","modified_gmt":"2011-04-20T20:16:12","slug":"ford-expanding-recall-f-150-pickup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pdxinjurylaw.com\/es\/ford-expanding-recall-f-150-pickup\/","title":{"rendered":"Ford Expanding Recall of F-150 Pickup Trucks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ford Motor Co. is expanding a recall of the popular F-150 pickup truck to include about 1.2 million vehicles because it was found that front seat airbags could deploy without the vehicle being involved in a collision.<br \/>\nA recent story in the Los Angeles Times stated that federal safety regulators reveal at least 269 incidents, more than one-third of which resulted in injuries, making it the most \u201cever recorded in any inadvertent airbag deployment investigation or recall\u201d in the history of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).<\/p>\n<p>The F-Series is the best-selling truck in the U.S.A. and in 2010 was the nation\u2019s top-selling vehicle of any type.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year Ford recalled 2005 and 2006 year pickups built at the now-closed Norfolk, Virginia Ford factory. Ford is now recalling pickups built at factories in Dearborn, Michigan and Kansas City, Missouri from the 2004-2006 model years. It is also recalling 2006 models of the Lincoln Mark LT truck which were built in Dearborn but not previously identified with the problem.<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA stated that there had been at least 98 injuries from the unexpected airbag deployments, including two drivers who suffered permanent vision damage and other drivers reporting chipped teeth and injuries to neck and back.<\/p>\n<p>If you own one of these vehicles, contact your nearest Ford dealer about this recall.
