A male pedestrian was struck by a shuttle bus and died after being taken to an area hospital.
\nOn Thursday March 17 at about 4:25pm, Michael Stillman, age 54 of Albany, was driving a Hut Airport shuttle bus with several passengers on it, according to the Register-Guard. Several witnesses told police that the 40-year-old pedestrian was standing near the westbound lane of traffic, ran in front of the shuttle bus and was struck.<\/p>\n

The pedestrian was not identified pending notification of kin. No one on the bus was injured. The police are continuing to investigate the accident.<\/p>\n

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the man who was the victim in this tragic incident. We hope that they will receive the support that they need in these next difficult days and months.<\/p>\n

The law usually comes down on the side of the pedestrian in an accident, especially one where the pedestrian dies. However, just like everything in the law, there are exceptions.
