The Beaver Journal<\/em> reported that a man from Pilot Rock was injured when his loaded log truck went off the highway and crashed into a power pole.<\/p>\n

According to Oregon State Police, on January 21 at about 6:50am Richard L. Rowe, age 25 of Pilot Rock, was driving north on Highway 207 near milepost 13 north of Lexington, when he lost control of his loaded log truck. Rowe reported that he heard a \u2018popping\u2019 noise before the truck veered across the southbound lane and crashed into a Columbia Basin Electric power pole before overturning.<\/p>\n

Rowe was trapped inside his truck and the Heppner Fire Department turned off electrical power to the area before extricating him. He was transported to Heppner Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Rowe was using safety restraints.<\/p>\n

We are always glad when an accident like this only results in non-life threatening injuries. We wish Mr. Rowe a speedy and full recovery.<\/p>\n

Further investigation will need to be done to find out what caused this accident and what the \u2018popping\u2019 noise was that Mr. Rowe heard.
