A 20-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car and seriously injured as she tried to cross Oregon 213 in Oregon City.<\/p>\n

Oregon State Police reported that Teka Lynn Hammon of Portland, was walking across the multilane highway at 6:52pm when she was struck by a 1992 BMW driven by Lorna C. Wilson, age 79 of Mulino.<\/p>\n

Hammon was transported by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Hammon\u2019s mother, Tonja Swift, gave a statement saying that Hammon is doing well. “She seems to be fine,” Swift said. “She has a laceration on the back of her head, her pelvic bone was fractured in three places, she has abrasions all over, but she\u2019s OK.”<\/p>\n

Wilson and her 65-year-old female passenger were not injured, and the police did not issue any citations.<\/p>\n

We are certainly relieved to hear that Ms. Hammon is on the mend, and we wish her a speedy and full recovery. We hope that Ms. Wilson and her passenger did not suffer any lingering injuries from this traumatic event.<\/p>\n
