Heading into the Thanksgiving<\/a> weekend, the temperatures will drop to freezing during the early mornings and late evenings. \u00a0Holiday commuters are warned to watch for icy roads early Thursday morning. \u00a0Temperatures through Saturday could dip as low as 20 degrees with rain and freezing fog possible. \u00a0Patches of black ice will likely form on roads in the valley and mountains.<\/p>\n

Give extra time for Thanksgiving road trips and be cautious on the roads. \u00a0If drivers are heading to the mountains, there is likely to be patches of ice through much of the weekend in the Cascades and the Siskiyou Pass. \u00a0Thanksgiving weekend is typically one of the most-traveled of the year and it is important for drivers to be prepared for the conditions. \u00a0Make sure to inspect your vehicle including tires and windshield wipers. \u00a0Pack some extra blankets, carry water and snacks in case of emergency.<\/p>\n

Good news for holiday travelers is that Thanksgiving gas prices will be at the lowest level since 2008. \u00a0With lower gas prices, there is likely to be even more drivers on the roads this weekend. \u00a0Be courteous of others to make your holiday commute safe and injury-free for everyone on the road.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
