We are not doctors, but we regularly work with people who are seeing medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, chiropractors, surgeons, acupuncturists, massage therapists, osteopaths, and all sorts of other medical providers and specialists. In our opinion, the most important things to look for are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Excellent medical skills.<\/strong> Healing from your injuries is more important than your lawsuit, and must be your doctor\u2019s primary concern. It should be your primary concern too. Your health is more important than your lawsuit.<\/li>\n
  2. You must be able to trust your doctor. A doctor who has not earned your trust will not be able to help you as much as a doctor who you can confide in.<\/li>\n
  3. Credibility and honesty.<\/strong> A good doctor should be absolutely honest with you, and with everyone else he or she deals with. A doctor who just tells you what you want to hear is not what you should be looking for.<\/li>\n
  4. Willingness (but not eagerness) to testify in your case if necessary.<\/strong> Most doctors do not enjoy testifying. That is as it should be; they are busy healing people, and don\u2019t want to spend hours helping with a lawsuit. But your doctor\u2019s testimony will probably be the most important evidence you have in your lawsuit. If your doctor refuses to testify, it will make your case very difficult.<\/li>\n
  5. Large referral network of specialists.<\/strong> Your doctor should know many specialists, and should refer to them freely. Also, your doctor should not disparage other specialists, especially if those specialists are helping you. For example, if you are seeing both a physical therapist and a chiropractor, they should be willing to work together. If one of them says that the other is not helping, but you feel that they are both helping, then the one who is talking disparagingly about the other one is not being helpful in your healing process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
