With multiple crashes in Oregon this past weekend due to black ice on roads, we believe it is important to use extreme caution during icy conditions. Early mornings pose some of the greatest danger when driving in the dark on icy roads. Morning fog can reduce visibility making it harder to see ice on the roadways. Black ice can be near impossible to spot while driving in fog or the dark.<\/p>\n

Obey posted speed limits on roads that may have black ice. Drive slower if icy conditions may be ahead. Do not stop suddenly or make last minute decisions to turn or change lanes. Try to avoid slamming on your brakes, which can cause your vehicle to slide and lose control. Leave plenty of room between the car in front of you and pay attention to brake lights ahead.\u00a0Driving with\u00a0extra caution can help reduce the risk of an accident during icy conditions.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
