Watch for trees when you are driving, biking and walking to avoid injury.<\/p>\n<p>Fallen trees and branches can lead to down power lines causing power outages.\u00a0 Below are some helpful tips from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/weather\/index.ssf\/2014\/11\/portland_weather_tips_to_stay.html\">Pacific Power<\/a> to stay safe in these winter conditions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay away from downed power lines and utility lines.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t leave candles unattended and always have at least one battery powered lighting source in your home.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize a fireplace or wood stove to keep warm.<\/li>\n<li>Never use kerosene or propane heaters inside without proper ventilation.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t use charcoal or any barbecue grills inside your home or garage.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t drive over downed power lines.<\/li>\n<li>Protect your pipes during freezing weather by wrapping them with insulation.<\/li>\n<li>Leave faucets dripping so water won\u2019t freeze and crack the pipes.<\/li>\n<li>Generators should always be outside or in a well-ventilated unoccupied space.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure generators are properly wired for your home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prepare your home for emergency outages with extra food and warm items. \u00a0Stay safe during the strong winds and be cautious of falling trees and power lines everywhere.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Con la previsi\u00f3n de fuertes vientos en la zona de Portland, tenga cuidado con la ca\u00edda de \u00e1rboles y ramas grandes.
