{"id":18301,"date":"2014-10-29T09:40:46","date_gmt":"2014-10-29T16:40:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdxinjurylaw.com\/?p=18301"},"modified":"2025-07-05T20:36:33","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T03:36:33","slug":"takata-corp-airbag-recall-affects-millions-of-vehicle-owners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pdxinjurylaw.com\/es\/takata-corp-airbag-recall-affects-millions-of-vehicle-owners\/","title":{"rendered":"La retirada del airbag de Takata Corp afecta a millones de propietarios de veh\u00edculos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Potentially dangerous airbags by Takata Corp are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/commuting\/index.ssf\/2014\/10\/airbag_recall_some_portland_ar.html\">recalled<\/a> in various models of 2001-2007 vehicles.\u00a0 The airbags blasted shrapnel into the passenger seat and automakers have recalled about 12 million vehicles worldwide due to this problem.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle owners with these airbags are informed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to take immediate action.\u00a0 In the Portland area, many dealerships don\u2019t have immediate access to the replacement parts.\u00a0 Some local dealerships say it could take days or weeks for the replacement parts to arrive.<\/p>\n<p>The result of this backlog is that vehicle owners are having to make two appointments.\u00a0 One appointment is to have their airbags deactivated and a warning sticker applied so no one sits in the passenger seat.\u00a0 The second appointment is to get the airbag inflator replaced when the parts are available.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg reports that Takata\u2019s \u201cglobal crisis\u201d may be the result of the company\u2019s reliance on an unusual explosive chemical to inflate its air bags in milliseconds.\u00a0 Other than Takata, no other airbag supplier has used ammonium nitrate.<\/p>\n<p>Check your vehicles VIN number to see if yours is on the recall list.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Los airbags potencialmente peligrosos de Takata Corp se retiran en varios modelos de veh\u00edculos de 2001-2007.
