As the new school year begins, officials gathered<\/a> at Southeast 113th<\/sup> and Stark Street for the new installation of pedestrian flashing beacons at five busy Portland intersections.<\/p>\n

These five are the first of 18 new beacons to be installed for a $1.9 million project to address pedestrian safety in East Portland. When a pedestrian pushes the button, the beacons flash yellow encouraging drivers to stop for them to cross. This beacon project is being funded by the state general fun dollars.<\/p>\n

NE 122nd<\/sup> Ave & Stephens St<\/p>\n

SW 112nd Ave & Oregon St<\/p>\n

NE Halsey St & 106th<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

NE Weidler St & 106th<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

NE Glisan St & 117th<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

NE Halsey St & 105th<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

122nd<\/sup> Ave & NE Stanton<\/p>\n

SE Division St & 105th<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

SE 122nd<\/sup> Ave & Boise St<\/p>\n

SE Division St & 165th<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

SE Stark St & 142nd<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

NE Halsey St & NE 140th<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

SE Stark St & 151st<\/sup> Ave<\/p>\n

NE Glisan St & 130th<\/sup> Pl<\/p>\n
